When is the food pantry? Every Wednesday, 5:00-6:30pm
When should I arrive? People begin lining up as early as 4pm, though if you arrive before 6pm you will still be guaranteed food. We request that no one arrive after 6:30pm.
What do I need in order to receive food? Normally some proof of government assistance is required in order to receive food. However, in light of the current Covid-19 pandemic, anyone who self-identifies as food-insecure (not sure if you will have enough food or money for food) is eligible to receive food.
Do I need bags? Bag supplies are limited, so if you bring your own bags, it is helpful.
Can I get food for someone else? Yes, but you will need to enter their name on the sign-in list.
What kind of food do you provide? The food we have varies depending on what is donated to us by the LA Food Bank. We do our best to provide healthy, fresh food in addition to canned and dry goods.
Do you provide hot meals? We no longer offer regular hot meals. When the Covid-19 pandemic is over we plan on resuming hot meal service in addition to the food pantry.
Do you still provide showers? We no longer offer showers on Wednesdays. You can still get showers at the church on Saturdays.
Do you speak Spanish (Habla español)? Depending on our volunteer base on any given Wednesday, we may or may not have Spanish-speaking resources. However, we can usually meet Spanish-speakers’ needs.
Do you offer anything besides food? We also have clothing to distribute as well as a limited supply of hygiene products.
Do you have diapers? We rarely have diapers.
How do I get there? The church is located at 2930 Hyperion Avenue, Los Angeles, 90027, near the corner of Hyperion/Rowena. We have a parking lot behind the church. There are multiple bus stops within walking distance.
How many times can I come to the food pantry? We love helping our community! If you are experiencing food and or housing insecurities you are always welcome to participate in our Wednesday food pantry.
How do I volunteer? Contact us for instructions on volunteering.
What can I donate? List of items needed vary, at this time we need items for our Saturday showers which include hygiene kits: tooth brushes, tooth paste, shampoos, conditioners, body soaps. Men’s unworn socks and underwear.
