There is so much to love about Silver Lake. From incredible food and beautiful vistas, to a vibrant arts scene, many have found a reason to stay. Silver Lake is home to a diverse community of extremely fortunate and unfortunate alike. Our congregation is a direct reflection of our neighborhood, and our mission is to be of service to all who call Silver Lake (and the surrounding areas) home.
Our favorite places within walking-distance of the church:
Mixto - This is our go-to lunch spot after church. Pastor Kyle recommends the Organic Kale Caesar with Chicken
Standing Egg - This coffee spot is actually run by folks from a big Korean Church downtown. They have a weird but wonderful egg salad spread for their bagels.
Trader Joe’s - We love this TJ’s so much. They donate lots of groceries to our Wednesday Food Pantry, and we have hosted some of their staff events. Community!
Say Cheese - The owner of this cheese shop, Glenn, has supported SLCC in a bunch of ways, including with very bourgeois snacks for some of our homelessness events.
Broome Street General Store - If you need to sit and have a long conversation with someone over a cappuccino and/or buy CBD face oil, this is the spot.
7-Eleven - Don’t knock their pizza! We’re over here a couple times a week, sometimes just to grab unhoused friends to bring over to our programs.
Luxe Laundries - This laundromat generously supports our homeless programs buy helping us do participants’ laundry. How are they so patient and helpful?! We may never know.
