MEET THE STAFF

Kyle Joachim - Pastor

Rev. Kyle Joachim is originally from Pennsylvania and Ohio.  He moved to California in 2006 after working with inner-city youth in Berlin, Germany for several years.  He went to Fuller Seminary in Pasadena and is the former youth director at Ecclesia Hollywood and the College Pastor at First Presbyterian Church of Granada Hills.  Kyle enjoys playing the piano for Brittany (his wife), drinking extra large Diet Cokes from In-And-Out, and not being part of a political party. 

Stephanie - Office Manager

Stephanie Young has been part of Silverlake’s congregation in various capacities for the past 37 years as an ordained Elder, Deacon, wedding coordinator, children’s church director, VBS teacher, worship leader, choir member, bible study leader and women’s association secretary/treasurer.   In addition to being a songbird,  she has been serving SLCC as the office manager since 2015 and is the resident aromatherapy guru.  

Mariam - Music Director  

Mariam Carian is a singer-songwriter with roots from Detroit! She stumbled on SLCC when she moved to Silver Lake in 2010 and has been the Music Director since 2012.   She loves both outdoor and musical adventures with her daughter, Zosia and husband Michael. Besides her band/project Sleep Still, her other favorite pastimes include RiffTrax, MST 3000 and all things Tim & Eric.

Chris - Technical Lead

Chris Frischmuth first visited Silverlake Community Church with his parents in the 1970s and still has the Bible he was given during that first year attending!  In 1987, he joined the worship band as a drummer, later became a youth leader, and now serves as the church's Tech Lead.  Chris is an experienced EDM DJ and also works for Disney!
